Dog Owners Guide to Summer Fun in Rockwall, TX

Whether you’re looking for a fun place to play fetch, a day trip nearby or an extended vacation near Rockwall, never fear, there are plenty of dog friendly plans that allow you to bring Rocky along for some full-on family fun.

1. Dinner at The Londoner

A local British pub crossed with an American sports bar, The Londoner offers a great menu with delicious food and unique drinks. You can even bring Fido to the outdoor patio and dine under the stars.

2. Fetch at the Rockwall Dog Park

Get your pup’s energy out at the completely fenced-in Rockwall Dog Park. There are separate play areas for large and small breeds and everything is maintained with purely organic fertilizers and pest control methods. Best part is that there is no cost to members of the community.

3. Picnic at Lakeside Park at Lake Ray Hubbard

Not as busy or crowded as many of the other parks on Lake Ray Hubbard, Lakeside Park offers a wide variety of activities. From volleyball and paddleboat rentals, to walking trails and picnic tables, there’s enough to keep the family busy all day. A long walking trail circles the park making a perfect doggie walk for you and man’s best friend.

4. Hike at Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve

Looking for a bit more adventure? A short drive into Dallas and you can reach Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve to experience spectacular views, Hill-Country-type terrain, heavily-wooded areas, bird watching hotspots and beautiful wildflowers. Leashed pets are welcome on the hiking trails, so plan your day trip and get some exercise together!

Dogs are loved all over Texas, but we especially love pets here at Woodcreek. Our very own dog park is also underway and coming soon. To stay updated on its progress and check out our additional amenities, click here.
