Summer coming to an end means the first day of school is right around the corner. So, let’s make the most out of what’s left of the season. We have a list events going on in the Fate-Rockwall area for you and your family to enjoy before the kids get tied down with homework and studying.
On August 7th from 3:30pm to 6:00pm, Rockwall-Heath High School is hosting the Truckin’ Back to School event. Local food trucks are gathering together at the high school to raise money; all proceeds will benefit the Class of 2016. Some featured food trucks include: Mad Grill Pan Asian, Grandolfo’s Deli, Rockn’ Rick’s, Kona Ice, Bellatrino Pizza, and Texas Burrito Company. This is a great way to get involved in the community and have a little fun, too!
After satisfying your hunger with a savory food truck meal, head over to the City Lake Park in Royse City to take part in the KIDFISH fishing tournament. The tournament is from 6pm to 9pm and is free to all participants. The KIDFISH Foundation is a youth outreach program that is devoted to educating and providing this generation of outdoor enthusiasts with the fishing equipment they need. To participate in the competition you must 16 years old or younger. Winners of each age group receive trophies and are entered in the KIDFISH Classic Tournament. There is a limited supply of poles and bait available, so be sure to secure your spot by getting there early.
The last event going on before school starts up again is the 3rd Annual Back 2 School Bash in Downtown Royse City. On August 21st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, come see what all the noise is about. There will be games, activities, and giveaways for kids of all ages. Main Street will be closed down, however, the businesses will be open late offering special deals. The event is free so don’t miss out on all the fun!
